Common Use Systems Consulting

20+ Years of Expertise – Smart Solutions for Efficient Airport Operations

At FMO, we specialize in optimizing airport IT environments by balancing cost-efficiency with operational excellence. Our focus is on delivering highly reliable and scalable solutions—without compromising safety or passenger experience. Departure Control Systems (DCS) for check-in and boarding remain a core element of our strategy.

As early as 1998, we partnered with SITA to introduce one of the first advanced concepts for managing common use systems at airports. This forward-thinking approach laid the groundwork for today’s flexible and interoperable platforms. In 2006, we launched a fully airport-owned and -operated Common Use system based on ARINC’s iMuse platform. From day one, the system supported both ATB2 (magnetic stripe) and ATB1 (2D barcode) boarding passes—making it the first of its kind in the market.

Our capabilities have since evolved. In addition to extensive operational know-how, we’ve developed our own on-premise CUTE backup solution, ensuring business continuity and minimal downtime in critical airport environments.
We also have proven experience integrating multiple DCS platforms—ensuring seamless passenger handling across airlines—and in optimizing baggage messaging flows to Baggage Sortation Systems (BHS). This includes improvements in message timing, routing logic, and cost-performance balance, delivering smarter baggage handling with fewer delays and greater accuracy. The depth of knowledge gained through these projects—combined with our ongoing collaboration with key industry vendors—positions us to deliver high-level consulting services tailored to your airport’s specific needs.
