Corfu
GREEK ISLAND
GREECE
In summer, Corfu becomes the third Greek island featured in our summer flight schedule, joining Crete and Rhodes. Like its sister islands, Corfu welcomes visitors with warm hospitality and invites you to discover the lush green beauty of Greece’s “Emerald Isle.” In addition to small bays framed by green trees and white pebble beaches with crystal-clear waters, a highlight of your trip will surely be Corfu Town — one of the top destinations along the island. Beyond relaxing days at the beach, a journey across the island is well worth it: pass by traditional Greek olive groves, the characteristic small white chapels, and end your exploration at Lake Korission, where you can even spot flamingos.
Destination airport: Corfu (CFU)
We wouldn’t blame you if you spent your stay on Corfu simply unwinding and soaking up the sunshine on the island’s beautiful beaches. The fine pebble shores are tucked away in small, secluded bays, creating a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere.
Still, we highly recommend a visit to Corfu Town to truly get to know this Greek island. Since 2007, the city has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site and exudes a unique charm, with warm tones coloring the narrow lanes of the old town. These are lined with pastel façades and balconies draped in vibrant summer blooms. A popular highlight is the Nikiforou Theotokou promenade, where you’ll find all kinds of traditional Greek souvenirs. The rustic architecture of the old town reaches its peak at the adjoining Venetian fortress. The view from the fortress is breathtaking by day—and just as enchanting at night, when the city lights invite you to linger in one of the cozy tavernas below. The fortress itself is beautifully illuminated after dark.
Along the rugged coastline, countless beaches and serene hideaways invite you to leave everyday life far behind. Depending on where you’re staying, you’ll find wonderful spots all across the island, their gentle surf perfect for swimming and relaxing. In the south, the beaches of Paralia Chalikounas, Paralia Issos, and Paralia Kanoula await; in the north, Kamali tou Erola and Porto Timoni Beach are ideal for a summer’s day by the sea. East of Corfu Town lies the tranquil stretch of Verde Blu Beach. The choice is endless—just like the views beneath the surface. With a snorkel or diving mask, you can watch the colorful marine life of the Ionian Sea up close. Our tip: head west to the “Blue Eye Cave.” The sight of the rocks rising from the water is already spectacular, but below the surface, shoals of fish shimmer in the light—a true paradise for snorkelers and divers alike.
